TextLanternSign in with Discord
Open TextLantern and sign in with the Discord account you want to translate with. Then choose personal translation or a server you manage.
Follow the installation path below. If you have trouble signing in or installing the app, email support@textlantern.com.
Add it to your own account
Follow the installation instructions for your Discord account. Choose the personal installation if you want to read messages or translate your own replies. Adding the bot to a server does not complete this step.
In Discord, open User Settings → Authorized Apps and look for TextLantern. Then try translating a message. You do not need Manage Server for personal translation.
Add it to a server
- Sign in with an account that has Manage Server for that server.
- Follow the server installation instructions and review the permissions shown by Discord. TextLantern does not need Administrator.
- Give the bot access to the channel you want to translate. The permission guide explains what it needs.
- Choose the channel’s languages and reply location, save, and enable translation.
Try your first translation
For personal translation, open a message’s Apps menu and choose Translate privately from TextLantern. You should see a translation that only you can read.
For a server, send a short message in one of the channel’s two main languages. Look for TextLantern’s reply in the channel or the thread you selected, then try a message in the other language.
