A message someone sent you. Open its Apps menu and ask TextLantern for a translation. The result is visible only to you. Read a message.
A reply you want to send. Write it with /t, choose a language, and check the translation. Copy the text back into the conversation when you are ready. Write a reply.
A channel for your community. Add the bot to a server you manage and choose the channel’s languages. TextLantern then replies to messages automatically, in the channel or in a thread. Set up a channel.
Keep the conversation together
Suppose some members write in English and others in Japanese. Set those as the channel’s two main languages: English messages get a Japanese translation, and Japanese messages get an English translation. Members keep using the same Discord channel, on a computer or a phone. If you are sharing the setup instructions with a Japanese-speaking administrator, use the 日本語 channel setup guide.
Other members can request an extra language if you have enabled it. You choose whether those translations appear in the conversation, in a thread, or privately for the reader.
Start with one message or one channel
Sign in with Discord and install TextLantern before trying these steps. Personal translation is added to your own Discord account; configuring the server bot requires Manage Server.
